Gilles de Beauchêne is an imaginary photographer who constantly flirts with reality. With subtle alchemy and impressive technical mastery, he opens up a magical window into his world with each photograph. Inspired by the fantastic universes of Tolkien, Burton or Bilal, plunging into the aesthetics of video games and comic strips, constantly playing between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, he stages imaginary characters, fairies, multi-faceted seahorses and women, in an offbeat universe, to make them almost real.

 

Always drawing his scenes before photographing them, Gilles de Beauchêne then works with a model marker to develop his sets. Perfectionist to the end, using light with talent, he then invites us into his worlds, and we seek to enter the lives of these extreme characters, who live beyond the dream and go to the end of their desires and their fantasies.
