LIOR NORDMAN

Lior is a 34-year-old self-taught fashion photographer. Born and raised in Israel, his first introduction to photography was at age 26. While studying communication sciences at university, he was asked to take a camera to make a short film. In view of the result, he is advised to send the pictures to a local newspaper. The publisher then decides to publish them. A week later, he receives a phone call from the same newspaper offering to do photo reporting during football matches. Now he works with all major international magazines like Harpers Bazaar, Femme, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Playboy and more. Its clientele is international, from America to Europe and as far as Africa. He will have found his passion without ever finishing his studies. His photographic vision has not been perverted by current standards and protocols. His inspiration is singular, private and unique.
 
Pure and original, his photos have a close link with his private life, places he knows and frequents, his feelings, love, hate or passion. All these emotions that inspire and rub off on ses images. The shots that I capture are my desires, my fantasies and my chimeras, he confides to us. Until recognition, he will continue his hard work to achieve this goal. He compares himself to Jack Kerouac, this lonely wanderer who lives without roots, an itinerant. No limits, no laws. His talent is his ability to translate his perception into images, the ability to transpose the outer limits of his creativity into images. For him, less techniques, place to experience, history and emotions that emerge from the image. The model, the location and the light are the criteria determining the and the only essential elements to shape the image. His models are surreal, inaccessible, sophisticated and reveal the mystery of an uncontrolled and exacerbated passion. And he bends the lights according to his perception to sublimate his model. According to him, “woman is the true power that animates the universe”. His will, to build female Amazons, female goddesses transcending ordinary mortals. They are powerful, controlled, exceptional women, all in a dreamlike universe.
